This means that a lot of individuals don’t get the care and support they need and deserve.
We think this is heartbreaking and unacceptable.
As it stands today, you almost have to be an expert yourself just to find a competent therapist. It shouldn’t be like this!
We are working hard to change that.

Our Story

Founder
I founded UMA BOX in 2024 from a foundation of deep love, passion, and frustration.
As a childhood trauma survivor myself with CPTSD, I believe it is my life’s calling to be of service to other complex trauma survivors.
Many things need to improve in the arena of support for complex trauma. The current state is heartbreakingly poor, and I believe it is urgent to take action. Once you see the truth, it is very hard to unsee it.
How could I ever accept that most complex trauma survivors don’t get the right psychoeducation or therapy they need to heal their lives?
Hence, UMA BOX came to life.
Beyond its therapy services, UMA BOX aims to be a torchbearer for awareness, education, and truth around complex trauma.
UMA BOX is pushing for a paradigm shift in our mental health system, one where every therapist is competent in complex trauma. But until then, we won’t sit around and wait.
We are building the future we want.
